Norman Briffa

Norman is a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon based in the city of Sheffield  and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield.  He trained in medicine at the University of Sheffield. He trained in Cardiothoracic Surgery in the West Midlands and at Papworth Hospital in Cambridge.  He was also a research Cardiothoracic Fellow at  Stanford University in California. Norman has been a cardiac surgeon for more than 20 years and has carried out thousands of heart operations. His specialist areas are Heart Valve Surgery, coronary bypass surgery and surgery for Atrial Fibrillation. He also specialises in the long term heart management of patients who have undergone heart surgery.
